Applications close 30th April 2025

Application Process

1. Applications Open

To be considered for a Workforce Development Scholarship, applicants must carefully review the eligibility requirements, complete the online application form, and submit all required evidence.

Applicants will be required to provide:

  • Contact information
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of residential address
  • Proof of employment
  • Evidence of course enrolment
  • Working With Vulnerable People details
  • Citizenship or residency details (Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or relevant eligible visa type)
  • A written response to the application questions, which are designed to support the selection process by assessing your motivation, intention, and suitability for the program.
    1. What interests you most about applying for the Scholarship Program, and how do you think it will help you take the next step in your learning or career?
    2. How do you see this scholarship supporting you to successfully complete your qualification?
    3. What do you enjoy most about working in the education and care sector? Or why do you want to work in the education and care sector?
  • Employer Support Statement
Note: All documentation must be clearly dated, currently valid, and (where applicable) issued within the last three (3) months at the time of submission. If documents do not meet these requirements, or the date is unclear, a request for resubmission will be issued.
2. Eligibility Assessment

Once submitted, applications will undergo an eligibility assessment to ensure all requirements are met.

  • The number of applications may exceed the number of available scholarships; therefore, not all applications will be successful even if they meet all the eligibility requirements
  • Incomplete applications will be considered unsuccessful. All required information must be provided within requested timelines.

3. Selection Process

Applications will be assessed based on the supporting statements and responses to the selection questions, as well as their alignment with the Program’s objectives. Key considerations include:

  • Qualification type
  • Geographic location
  • Workforce needs
  • Motivation for applying

Applicants may also be invited to attend an interview with the Assessment Panel. This interview provides an additional opportunity for applicants to demonstrate their commitment to completing their studies and contributing to the sector.

4. Notification

Applicants will receive a formal notification, via email, regarding the outcome of their application.

5. Conditional Offer

Successful applicants will receive a conditional offer, outlining the next steps to confirm their scholarship. To accept, recipients must:

  • Sign a Scholarship Agreement detailing requirements, responsibilities, and expectations of the scholarship.
  • Provide additional evidence, for instance qualification details to finalise eligibility verification.

Note: Failure to submit the required documentation and Scholarship Agreement within the specified timeframe will result in the withdrawal of the conditional offer.
