Family Day Care

Brighton Family Day Care is a privately-owned scheme with a strong emphasis on promoting children’s learning and development through play and exploration. Our dedicated Educators provide safe, nurturing and positive environments in their own homes in the greater Hobart region.

Are you enthusiastic about being a part of children’s learning and development in the early years? Do you have a passion about working with children and want to play a part in shaping their futures? Would you like to work flexible hours running your own business from home, with minimal start-up costs, support and guidance from field coordinators (Nominated Supervisors) who will assist you to launch and grow your business? Whether you are looking for a change of career, have a desire to work from home, or simply want to become a business owner; family day care might be right for you!

An insight into Family Day Care

The key responsibilities of Brighton Family Day Care Approved Service include supporting and monitoring our Educators. New Educators begin a probationary period of 6 months, with weekly support visits from Brighton Family Day Care Nominated Supervisors. These visits ensure compliance of National Laws and Regulations, scheme policies and procedures within environments, also allowing extra support to assist you into your family day care journey. Once Educators successfully complete their probationary period, they will undertake a Registration process with BFDC Nominated Supervisors.

As a Business Owner, you are required to have your own ABN and Public Liability Insurance as well as setting up your own environment with resources. Within ratio, our Educators can provide care for up to 7 children under the age of 12. 4 children aged 4years and under, and 3 school aged children. Please note, Educators own children are included in numbers.

Our Educators decide their own hourly rate and can charge up to $9.90 per child, per hour. It is the Educators decision to provide a transportation service.

Office staff have a wait list and can place children in specific areas however, we do encourage our Educators to advertise using a Face Book page or other public platforms to fill vacancies.
